The fall 2025 semester was marked by meaningful progress across campus, advancing our mission to prepare graduates who serve, lead and improve the health and well-being of communities locally in Western New York, across the state and region and around the world. This past fall, we celebrated growth across our academic programs, including important milestones in the continued development of our College of Osteopathic Medicine. This transformational initiative reflects our long-standing commitment to addressing physician workforce shortages and expanding access to healthcare, particularly in underserved and rural communities. Alongside this progress, investments in facilities, clinical partnerships, and student support services have strengthened experiential learning and ensured our students are prepared with both technical expertise and compassionate perspective. As we look ahead to the spring 2026 semester, we do so with particular pride in the graduating class we will celebrate in May. Featured in this issue’s cover story is a remarkable group of Ukrainian students whose journey to D’Youville is one defined by courage, perseverance and hope. In the midst of profound personal and national upheaval, these students continued their education with extraordinary determination. Their presence on our campus has enriched our classrooms, broadened our global perspective and powerfully demonstrated the role higher education plays in fostering resilience, understanding and opportunity. We are deeply honored to support them as they complete their degrees and prepare to carry their D’Youville education into careers that will positively impact communities around the world. This issue of D’Mensions also highlights the first group of men to graduate from the college in 1975, as well as another program central to our mission: the Health Careers Opportunity Program. As shared in the article, “Building Futures: D’Youville’s Health Careers Opportunity Program,” HCOP is expanding access to healthcare careers for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, helping to build a more diverse, equitable, and culturally responsive workforce. None of this progress would be possible without the continued support of our alumni, partners, donors, faculty, staff and friends. Your commitment strengthens D’Youville’s ability to educate compassionate leaders and respond to an ever-changing world. Thank you for being part of our journey, and I hope you take pride in the stories that reflect the heart of our university. With gratitude and excitement for all that lies ahead, Dr. Lorrie Clemo President, D’Youville University Ukrainian students define courage, perseverance, hope Dr. Lorrie Clemo
