EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE Gearing Up For 2023 the ALOA Convention, preparations are in full swing for both conventions next year. SAFETECH planning is keeping us particularly busy as we finalize the class selections for 2023. Look for our final class schedule in the registration brochure we’ll have up online in January. In the meantime, keep saving those A dates of April 17-22, 2023. We will be at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, which is a new venue for us. The property is nicely renovated and will be convenient for attendees. There’s a lot to do on-site and plenty of dining options for every budget. It’s away from the main strip, so it’s a bit of a different feel for us, and parking is a little easier. ALOA 2023 We’re already planning for the 2023 ALOA Convention & Security Expo as well. Mark these dates on the calendar, if you haven’t already: August 6-12, 2023. We will be back at the Hilton Orlando, where we were in 2016. We had great feed- back on this venue, so we’re excited to be going back. This is another location where you don’t have to do a lot of walking, and the pool complex is great for your families 6 KEYNOTES NOVEMBER 2022 s we near the end of the year, it’s always a busy time for ALOA. Although it might feel like we just finished up “SAFETECH planning is keeping us particularly busy as we finalize the class selections for 2023.” (there’s a really nice lazy river). And, of course, Orlando overall is a wonderful family destination. Bring the family, stay a few extra days and make a little vacation out of it. We’ll have more information about both conventions in the next couple of months. Keep an eye on SAVTA.org and ALOA.org for the latest updates, and we hope to see you there! Email conven- [email protected] with any questions. Membership Renewal The end of the year also means member- ship renewal time. You should have re- ceived your renewal invoice both in the mail and electronically. If you have not received it, please contact us at member- [email protected] or 800-532-2562. The easi- est and fastest way for you to renew is to do so online in the membership portal on ALOA.org. Click on the Membership tab and log in to access your account. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us. Be sure to renew by the end of De- cember so you won’t have any lapse in benefits (including receiving Keynotes). There are so many benefits to member- ship, including discounts and profes- sional bonding, that essentially mean your membership pays for itself. If you need a reminder of everything you get, see my column in last month’s Keynotes, or contact us for a full list. Thank you so much for being mem- bers and supporting ALOA through this and every year. We couldn’t be what we are without you, and we can’t wait to see where next year takes us together. Mary A.
