PRESIDENTIAL PERSPECTIVE Get Involved in Automotive H ere it is, November already. I can remember as a little kid that the time from one Christmas to the next one was forever. Now, I just turn around, and it’s here again. With Thanksgiving and the other holidays coming up, I hope that everyone remem- bers to stay safe. The plans for the IAAL convention are progressing. Look for information about it in the near future. There are still a lot of automotive classes being put on at the vari- ous shows around the country and ALOA headquarters. With the cost of the pro- grammers coming down, there is really no reason to not do automotive any more. Yes, it is expensive, and you need to take classes to really learn what you are doing — but the profit has increased quite a bit also. There is good money to be made in the automotive sector. If you’re interested in doing automotive work and want to know what classes you should take to get started, contact [email protected]. The ALOA Education Depart- ment is incredibly helpful and can point you in the right direction. Events All Around The shows around the country are starting to be well attended again. GPLA and Yankee are now over for this year. If they were anything like ALOA in Vegas, the attendance was very good. If you do not go to these and other conventions, you are missing out on great opportunities to network and make new friends. Keep saving the dates for SAFETECH and the ALOA conventions for 2023. Go to ALOA.org for the latest information, and keep an eye on the Main Event column in Keynotes. You can email [email protected] with any questions you may have in the meantime. I hope to see many of you at the shows in 2023. “If you do not go to these and other conventions, you are missing out on great opportunities to network and make new friends.” Bill Mandlebaum, CML President ALOA Security Professionals Association, Inc.
