4th May 1990 - Oberhofen: The FISA Council: For the first time the members of the FISA Council met in the new FISA Headquarters in the FIS Building at Oberhofen (SUI). Mr. Marc Hodler, President of FIS (International Ski Federation), the owner of the building, was present to welcome the Council. FISA President Denis Oswald expressed FISA’s thanks for this cooperation. For that purpose, he had called together during the year at the same time and place - Frankfurt - all the driving forces of the Federation, i.e., all the commission members, for an in-depth exchange of views about desirable activities for FISA to pursue. Peter Coni, (GBR) became FISA treasurer. This task had in the past been part of the secretary-general’s responsi bilities. 1. GDR 2. GBR 3. USA 4. FRA 5. FRG Ivan Dibos, who had been a member of the IOC in Peru since 1982 and was a former oarsman, replaced Alberto Madero as continental representative for South America on council. The latter had retired because he had rea ched the age Emit. Zhang Qing (CHN) would be the Asian continent’s representative in place of Huh Shin Koo (KOR). Three council “veterans” did not offer them selves for election as commission chairmen: Christopher Davidge, chairman of the regatta commission since 1974, Dr. Hans Howald, chairman of the medical com mission, also since 1974, and Bjorn B. Haslov, chair man since 1979 of the materials commission.
