Journal of Arboriculture 31(5): September 2005 233 The desired outcomes for the LSUAC continuing education program are to improve safety and professional- ism among licensed arborists. This study did not distin- guish between safety and professionalism as separate behaviors; rather, it emphasizes that both types of behavior are fundamental components of good arboricultural practice. Louisiana arborists demonstrate some deficiencies in these areas, particularly in terms of on-the-job safety behaviors, promoting sound tree care practices to their customers, and pursuit of current technical information.
