INVESTIGATIVE SPOTLIGHT F irst, happy ALOA convention issue for magical Orlando! I am thrilled to see the many exhibitors and attendees who have signed up already. This should be a tremendous show for ALOA and IAIL. Also, this is the time for education. At the convention, we are offer- ing five forensics/investigative-themed classes. Don’t miss the chance to take these classes for your CFL credential: 210/310 – Investigative Locksmithing 312 – Basic Forensic Tool Marks for Investigative Locksmiths 410 – Photography for Locksmiths 412 – Advanced Forensic Tool Marks for Investigative Locksmiths 512 – How to Prepare to be a Forensic Investigator We shall also have an IAIL Board and membership meeting at the convention. I’m looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible and discussing plans for IAIL. In fact, the idea for the IAIL webinar series was born at the IAIL meeting at last year’s convention. IAIL Webinars Speaking of free webinars — which is a killer benefit for IAIL membership — Beta Tam will have completed his second webinar in June: Forensics, Tool Marks Exami- nation for Locksmiths — Manufacturing Marks on Locks, Safes, and Adjacent Hard- ware. Webinar participation demand continues to build, with over 35 participants pre-registered. My goal is triple-digit participation eventually! In July, Marc Weber Tobias from Investigative Law Offices will present his work on the Antwerp diamond heist, including the criminal approach, the investigation and the prosecution. Hope everyone enjoyed that! We will skip August for webinars because of the convention but will start right back up again in September. Beta Tam will present the third part of his series on Tool Marks – Bypass vs. Wear and Tear Marks on Locks, Safes and Adjacent Hardware! See you in Orlando! Clyde T.
