It marks the first event in the series of international conferences and symposia on deep mixing to be held in North America. The event was previously held in Japan (1996, 2002, 2009) and Sweden (1999, 2005). Deep Mixing 2015 will provide a forum for international exchange on important advances in materials, equipment, system design and project delivery that have occurred since the 2009 event. The symposium scope consists of deep mixing and mass mixing by mechanical means that may be assisted by fluid energy. Over 140 abstracts were submitted from 20 countries, and the assistance of deep mixing industry experts is sought to review draft papers. Please submit your name to [email protected] if interested. DFI was chosen to manage this landmark event by conference co-chairs, George Filz from Virginia Tech and Masaki Kitazume from Tokyo Institute of Technology. DFI’s Soil Mixing Committee will serve as the organizing committee with assistance from Geo- Institute’s Soil Improvement Committee.
