SWEDEN 2014 Planning continues for the DFI-EFFC International Conference on Piling and Deep Foundations being held in Stockholm, Sweden next May. Piling & Deep International Conference on 2014 STOCKHOLM SWEDEN Foundations Global Perspective on Sustainable Execution of Deep Foundation Work Technical Committee Co-chairs: The call for papers and video presen- tations came to a close last month and many exciting topics and worldwide project case histories have been submitted. The technical committee (TC), comprised of representatives from Europe and the U.S., has its work cut out in deciding which proposals to accept. They will also be selecting keynote lecturers and forming panels for each technical session on driven and bored piles, deep mixing, and walls, as well as the opening session on harmonization of execution standards. The conference’s international advisory committee consisting of prominent industry members from across the globe will assist the TC. Through their regional contacts and willingness to promote the conference, many individuals from all over the world are working to make next year’s conference a truly international event.
