Seventy computer workstations are available in the library. Laptops can also be borrowed for in-library use only. Four group study rooms are available on the main floor of the library. Each room is equipped with an LCD display monitor and whiteboard to facilitate group projects and collaboration. The rooms can be reserved online in advance or at the library’s circulation desk. Book scanners, color printers/copy machines, and wireless Internet access are available. A media room for film screenings is located on the Lower Level of the library. The Wagner College Archives and the Edwin Markham Archive are also located on the lower level. Horrmann Library is a member of the METRO NY library consortium, which allows students to readily obtain books and articles from other local colleges and universities. Items not available locally can be obtained from almost any college in the United States, via free Interlibrary Loan service. Librarians offer information literacy instruction as well as group and individual research assistance. Tutoring is available in two ways: specially trained Writing Intensive Tutors (WITs) help students improve writing skills, and outstanding faculty-selected peer tutors assist with academic subjects. Students receive this academic support free of charge—on a drop-in basis, by appointment, or through establishing an ongoing tutoring schedule for all or part of the semester. The campus has a high-speed connection to the internet and an updated network infrastructure.
