66 Students should always behave in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the College and should represent the College positively at all times. Therefore, the following are prohibited: 1. Disorderly, lewd, indecent, or obscene conduct. 2. Using obscene or derogatory language toward any member or guest of the College. 3. Behaving in a manner that disrupts the daily routine of other students. 4. Any actions that disrupt the College’s mission and environment. Electric Transportation Devices Personal electronic transportation devices such as, but not limited to, electric scooters and hoverboards are prohibited from use on College property, including residence halls. Such devices can be stored for use off campus by the bike rack at the rear of the library; a device may be confiscated by College administrators if it is used on campus. Note: electric mobility aids that are registered with the College for individuals with disabilities are exempt. Fire Safety Violations In order to ensure the safety of all individuals in the Wagner College community, fire safety violations are taken very seriously. The following are prohibited: 1. Possession or use of firearms, fireworks, other weapons, or chemicals which are of an explosive or corrosive nature on College property or at College functions. 2. Creating a situation in which a fire alarm is activated due to smoke or fire conditions. 3. Pulling a fire alarm under false pretenses. 4. Failure to evacuate in a timely manner from a building during a fire alarm. 5. Tampering with fire safety equipment, including smoke detectors, sprinkler heads, fire extinguishers, fire safety equipment, emergency fire exit alarm doors, safety lights or fire sensors, thus endangering the safety of the occupants of the building. 6. Misusing fire safety exit without the threat of emergency. 7. The use of any door locks other than those provided by the College. 8. Failure to report a fire to the proper authorities. 9. Blocking fire lanes near or around any building on campus. Vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense. 10. Possession of items prohibited in campus facilities, including: a. Any candle, incense, or appliance with open face heating coils or elements such as coffee pots, electric grills, toasters, air fryers, and hot plates. Coffee makers that use pods to make individual servings are permitted in student rooms, and rice cookers are permitted only in common areas. b. Fireworks, firecrackers or any other chemicals, which are of an explosive or corrosive nature are prohibited on College property or at any College function. c. Firearms, ammunition, offensive or defensive weapons, paintball guns, nerf or other projectile toy guns, BB guns, sling shots, water guns, swords, stun guns, knives, and any other item that may be determined a weapon by the College. d. Halogen, spider, and lava lamps Gasoline and any other flammable liquids. e. Kerosene heaters, oil lamps, immersion coils and space heaters not provided by the College. f. Non-UL approved power cord or extension cords. g. Over-utilized electrical sockets. h. Oversized refrigerators taller than 4 feet high (in residence halls). i. Live cut Christmas trees.
