6 Keynotes January/February 2025 aloa.org EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE by March 14 to get the discounted rate. We also have the ALOA Convention & Security Expo on the horizon, so save the dates for that as well. We will be at the Hilton Orlando August 3-9, with five days of classes and two days of the Secu- rity Expo. Look for full registration information included with the May issue of Keynotes. There are more booth signups for both the SAFE- TECH and ALOA conventions than when we were at the same venues in the past, so these two events are bound to be full and successful. Be sure to register and book your hotel rooms as soon as you are able to, as these venues are bound to sell out. We are also planning to offer more training outside of the conventions this year. At the Dallas training center, we will be holding additional ses- sions for those new to locksmithing — the Five-Day Fundamentals of Locksmithing Class — plus other classes throughout the year. ALOA Education also hopes to hold more webi- nars this year as well. We are working on selecting topics and instructors, so be on the lookout for more information and announcements on the calendar, in Keynotes and on social media. Thank you for being a part of ALOA SPAI for 2025. We’re excited for the year ahead for the asso- ciation, and we’re glad you’re along for the ride with us. H APPY NEW YEAR! I HOPE THAT 2025 is off to a wonderful start for you, your family and businesses. Last year was a good one for ALOA SPAI. After the final accounting is completed, the association should end up with a small profit for 2024 — the first year since the pandemic we will have done so. It has been a difficult few years for associations and conventions of all kinds worldwide, but ALOA is poised for success moving forward. We held two successful conventions in 2024 and started planning for the IAAL Auto Lock Expo that will take place May 14-17 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We will have three full days of classes (up from two days), plus a trade show and events. There will also be free classes and demos on the 17th that you can take advantage of. Be sure to book your hotel room! We will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cedar Rapids Con- vention Complex. There is a link on www.aloa.org on the IAAL Auto Lock Expo tab so you can get the discounted hotel rate. Look for more information on that soon in Key- notes, online and in your mailbox! Email conven- [email protected] with any questions. Also Coming Up Don’t forget we also have the SAFETECH Con- vention coming up April 7-12 at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, KY. This is such a welcoming group, and you’re sure to make valuable connections and friends. If you’ve been looking to get into safe work or enhance your skills, this is definitely the place to be. Find out more information on the SAFETECH Convention tab on www.aloa.org. Be sure to register Mary A.
