More and more customers want electronic access control. By popular request, this class is redesigned to a two-day class. Day one primarily explores the basics of electricity and electronics pertaining to the electronic access control industry. We will explore how electricity is created and utilized. We will discuss electrical terms and many of the components used in electronics with an emphasis on what is needed to be a successful “electronic” locksmith. We will look at how circuits are wired in houses, shops, vans and electronic access control. Day one is primarily lecture with some hands-on testing and assembling some basic circuits and may be taken separately for those interested in just basic electricity. Day two will expand upon day one materials; students will wire up access control panels with electric strikes and request to exit switches.
