This is your chance to get some extremely good training on safes and safe deposit locks. Safe work is a specialty field because of the need for training and constant updates. There are new safes coming out all the time, and there are safes being sold under many labels. If you know the label and who makes the safe, it is much easier opening them. Ignorance in the safe field can be extremely expensive. Your customers expect to have their safes usable when you are finished. Anybody can butcher a safe, but only the experts can open and repair where you cannot see the opening. Attending SAFETECH in Tulsa is your chance to get the very best education from the best in- structors in the industry. You shouldn’t miss it. ALOA 2024 in Las Vegas Also keep in mind that the 2024 ALOA Convention & Security Expo is coming up in July — another chance for quality education. The full registration brochure is in- cluded within the pages of this magazine issue, so take a look and see what classes interest you. There’s something for everyone. You may think that it is too expensive, but if you learn even one new skill, it can make you money. If you take several classes, you can probably make the whole cost back in less than a year with the new skills you can offer your customers. While on- line education is OK, the ALOA instructors are vetted and know what they teach. With other online sources (YouTube, etc.), you often have to be really careful about who you are learning from. While there are some on there who know what they are talking about, there are many who are on there trying impress you when they really don’t know much or the correct way to do things. Know your teachers, and learn from those who can teach you about all kinds of hardware. There’s also a lot of networking that goes on at the ALOA and SAFETECH conven- tions. You meet a lot of people who can help connect you to jobs, refer work to you, help you out with technical information or connect you to parts you need in the future. And, sometimes, you just make some new friends. It’s a group of people you really can’t replicate anywhere else, and you have to go to see what I mean. I hope you do.
