Call to Order – President Jim Wiedman Eliminate Call for Quorum – established by Proxy as changed in the Bylaws 2. Pledge of Allegiance – Secretary Roberson 3. Introduction of Board, Staff and Guests 4. Approve Minutes of Previous Meeting Special meeting, Annual Elections Meeting on August 8, 2020: a. MM: John Truempy; 2nd: Barry Wolenski (#15140). Approved without dissent. 5. Report of the President – Discussed these challenging times and the success of the Association in weathering the eco- nomic downturn and finding creative ways to deliver value to our members. Sale of the building, podcasts, this is our first meeting face-to-face. Happy to see everyone in person! 6. Report of Executive Director – Mary A. May a. We were uncertain of turnout, but thank you to all you members who showed up, turned out and were there for your Association. b. ALOA Education had to cancel face-to-face meetings. But did over 350 hours of VILT (Virtual Instructor Led Training)! c. Success of podcasts. d. Plans for putting together an Automotive Division. e. Dawne Chandler taking over Social Media. f. Financially, sold the building and received two federal stimulus loans. g. Next events: i. ALOA 2022: July 24-30 at Las Vegas South Point ii. SAFETECH 2022: April 4-8, Lexington KY, Griffin Gate Marriott iii. SAFETECH 2023: April 15-23 in Reno, NV h. Thank you to all instructors at convention and virtually. 42 KEYNOTES SEPTEMBER 2021 7. ASF Report – John Truempy gave the state of ASF and announced and introduced the scholarship recipients at convention. 8. Industry Awards a. Ray D’Adamo Ace Instructors Award: not awarded this year b. Keynotes Author of the Year: not awarded this year c. President’s Award: presented by Jim Wiedman and awarded to Jim Hancock and Noel Flynn d. ALOA Lifetime Achievement Award: Introduced by Jim Wiedman and presented with eloquent words by John Hubel for Mark Blum, last year’s recipient who could not be here. This year’s winner is Ed Woods, CML, CPS, CAL e. Other Awards: recognized Tom Demont and Bob Mock, who will be retiring from the ALOA Board of Directors aſter many years of dedicated service. 9.
